Candy in the pick and mix formats or as the swedes say, Losgodis (loose candy) or smallgodis (small candy), where not allowed in Sweden for many years. Still in the 1970s, buying candy was quite an elaborate process. Not allowed in Sweden for many years. Still in the 1970s, buying candy was quite an elaborate process. The loose pieces of candy would lie under a glass pane that would first be lifted, often behind a tall counter where you had to ask, decide and point before the clerk could fill a bag. It was first in 1984, when the Swedish National Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) recommended the Swedish Board of Health (HälsovÃ¥rdsnämnden) allow the customers to pick and mix the candy themselves, that the concept started to spread. Today the Swedes pick their sweets in separate containers, with a spoon in supermarkets all around Sweden. We have picked the most common, traditional Swedish loose candy and packed it in a giftbox for you to share and enjoy.
